I went camping @ Silverwood lake w/my friends. On the way there it was really shocking to see this korean bbq place in the middle of NOWHERE. Seriously, it's completed isolated in the high desert San Bernardino mountains. It was so strange and I was really intrigued
Later I saw the reviews & it was even more intriguing bc half the reviews were locals who went for the sushi but had no idea how legit the kbbq was there, and the other half were Koreans who all seemed to get the duck & duduck (obscure Asian root vegetable)
We got duck, duduck, & dotori muchim (acorn jelly salad). The salad was SO good. U could tell all the vegetables were organically grown closeby. The duck also came with more organic greens. We like to eat healthy and really enjoyed the fresh delicious greens + dotori muk (acorn jelly) which is vegan & extremely low in calories.
Also, I found out that duck fat is mostly monounsaturated fat, which Is the healthy kind of fat. Our favorite part of the meal was the whole garlic cloves & duduck root roasted in the duck fat. Yum!! It was like crack
It was really surprising to see this isolated kbbq place not just surviving but thriving out there alone. When we went on Sat nite, the sushi side had a lot of customers. I would not recommend driving all the way here from LA/OC just to eat, but it's worth a daytrip if u go to Silverwood Lake or Go hiking at Mormon Rocks (next to Cajon Pass on interstate 15) -

Such an awesome hidden gem seemingly in the middle of nowhere! Stopped by here yesterday after leaving Big Bear Lake by exiting through Crestline. Extremely welcoming staff & a suprisingly well detailed interior. Definitely didn't expect the inside to be so nice by looking from the outside.
Shared a sushi roll platter
(CA, Spicy Tuna, & Shrimp Tempura rolls)
Top notch quality sushi!!!
Prices may run a tad more than the average sushi joint, but considering how isolated this spot is - it shouldn't be frowned upon.
I'll definitely have to come back to try that Korean BBQ.
4/5 Stars. -

I'd like to give it 5 stars but a couple of things prevent me. The rice on the spicy tuna was really dry (almost as if it were premade). I couldn't figure out why the Samurai roll was so much more expensive than the rest (after ordering it). The menu was reused; you actually see previous orders that were erased. The restaurant is almost too much like the outside atmosphere (it's too cold when it too cold outside etc).
To the deets. We really enjoyed our sushi (with the exception of the spicy tuna). The service is good and the environment (aside from the HVAC) is really nice. The terrain surround is beautiful and it's just an overall nice dining experience. We'll return. -

The night was saved by the owner's kind daughter and son. The shrimp tempura udon was delicious, and the spicy tuna roll did not disappoint. But it will
not be a place we will be coming back to again,
nor recommend to others unless under new ownership.
